Holiday Spiced Nog Recipe

The LAVA Holiday Spiced Nog is a creamy winter cocktail made with LAVA Spiced Demerara Syrup and LAVA Vanilla Syrup for warm sweetness, holiday spice, and velvety texture. Aged rum adds depth, while cream and whole egg provide the traditional richness of classic egg nog without feeling overly heavy. This version is smooth, festive, and perfectly suited for seasonal menus, gifting cocktails, and fireside sipping.

  • Total Time: 5
  • Yield: 1

Ingredients

• 1.75 oz aged rum (or bourbon for more oak)
• 0.75 oz LAVA Spiced Demerara Syrup
• 0.5 oz LAVA Vanilla Syrup
• 1 oz heavy cream or half-and-half
• 1 whole egg (or pasteurized egg substitute)
• Pinch nutmeg
• Pinch cinnamon
• Garnish: grated nutmeg and cinnamon stick
• Ice: none — served up

Instructions

  1. Add rum, LAVA Spiced Demerara Syrup, LAVA Vanilla Syrup, cream, egg, nutmeg, and cinnamon to a shaker.

  2. Dry shake for 10–12 seconds to emulsify.

  3. Add ice and shake again until cold and frothy.

  4. Fine strain into a coupe or Nick & Nora glass.

  5. Garnish with fresh nutmeg and a cinnamon stick.

Notes

• LAVA syrups provide sweetening and integrated spice — no additional sugar needed.
• Add 0.25–0.5 oz more cream for a richer, dessert-style version.
• Non-alcoholic: omit rum, add a splash more cream + syrup.
• Approx 240–310 calories depending on spirit and cream used.
